RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of activities, including:
Project Management & Leadership:
Lead structural engineering teams on a variety of real estate development projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Provide clear and concise direction to junior engineers and guide their professional development.
Design and Drawing Expertise:
Develop and implement innovative structural design solutions to meet project requirements while optimizing constructability, material usage, and cost-effectiveness.
Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., non-linear analysis software) to assess complex structural behavior and ensure project viability.
Create clear, concise, and detailed structural drawings using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (e.g., Revit) to facilitate efficient construction and minimize potential errors.
Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant building materials and their structural properties to select the most appropriate materials for each project.
Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in structural engineering design software and methodologies.
Participate in the development and implementation of company design standards and best practices for structural engineering.
Structural Design & Analysis:
Perform structural calculations and analyses using industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD.Pro).
Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of structural elements with the overall building design.
Address constructability concerns and develop practical solutions for efficient construction.
Construction Support & Site Visits
Communication & Collaboration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 15 years of experience as a professional structural engineer.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Registration as a Registered Engineer (COREN) in Nigeria (highly desirable).
Proven track record of success in a senior structural engineering role within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, and construction methods.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Proficient in structural engineering design software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
A strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of structural engineering design.
