Description
The Materials Management Officer is responsible for overseeing the planning, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies within an organization. The role ensures that the materials required for operations are available in the right quantity, at the right time, and at the right cost. This position also works closely with various departments to monitor inventory levels, manage suppliers, and streamline processes for efficiency.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of stock levels and monitor inventory turnover.
Implement strategies to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of stock records.
Logistics and Distribution:
Plan and supervise the transportation and delivery of materials to various departments or sites.
Ensure materials are received, stored, and distributed according to organizational procedures and industry standards.
Oversee the proper handling, storage, and protection of materials to avoid damage or loss.
Forecasting and Planning:
Collaborate with other departments to forecast material needs and ensure appropriate supply levels.
Prepare reports on material usage and stock levels for management review.
Develop and implement materials management strategies to optimize the supply chain.
Compliance and Quality Control:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards for materials management.
Monitor the quality of incoming materials and supplies, ensuring they meet specified standards.
Requirements
BSc Degree in Engineering, Business Administration and Management or with an emphasis on Supply Chain and Operations Management.
Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in an oil servicing or producing company. Position requires specific experience related to Oil and Gas materials or logistics coordination role.
