Account Officer

Job Summary

Our client seeks a highly skilled and experienced Account Officer with vast knowledge to assist in managing day-to-day financial transactions, support the provision of sound and strategic financial reports, and recommend viable ways of controlling internal costs.

Responsibilities

Handling accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliation, invoicing, and general ledger entry.
Preparation of Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Financial Statement of Accounts
Preparation of relevant financial report.
Preparation of Account and income statement, Trade debtors & creditors report, Bank and cash balances, sales and closing stock summary reports from different locations/regions both in naira value and in the quantity of each product sold, etc
Preparation of bank reconciliation, sales commission (Sales reps and distributors)
Preparation of payroll and ensuring all relevant deductions and remittances are made within the stipulated time
Tax and inventory reporting.

Qualification and Experience

Working experience as an Accountant/Account Officer, preferably in a retail environment, is an added advantage
First Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or any related fields
Thorough knowledge of Nigeria’s Financial laws and regulations
Experience using Accounting software (Tally, Peachtree, Sage, etc)

Skills and Competencies:

Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
Strong phone, email, and in-person communication skills
Applicants must reside on the Island or within its environs
