Position Summary

The Head of Human Resources will lead the human resources function strategically and operationally, overseeing its implementation across all operational states.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing recruitment initiatives, fostering employee relations, overseeing performance management processes, driving organizational development, implementing HR policies, facilitating learning and development programs, and ensuring full compliance with HR regulations.

Overseeing a range of critical duties, this role involves managing and executing key operational tasks to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational objectives. Among its primary functions are coordinating team efforts, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and workflow. Additionally, the position requires maintaining clear communication channels with stakeholders, addressing challenges proactively, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The individual in this role will also be responsible for analyzing data to identify trends, optimizing processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making initiatives. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset are essential for success in this position.

Oversee recruitment initiatives across every department and state, encompassing field-based hiring efforts.

Develop and oversee onboarding programs that effectively integrate new employees into the organization’s mission and core values.

Develop, evaluate, and execute HR policies with precision and strategic foresight to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance standards.

Collaborate with department heads to evaluate and manage staff capacity assessment processes effectively.

Administer and maintain systems for monitoring employee learning and development, as well as overseeing initiatives aimed at enhancing staff skills and capabilities.

Oversee the performance review processes to ensure they are in harmony with both individual staff development and broader organizational goals.

Manage employee relations issues, oversee grievance procedures, conduct disciplinary actions, and lead workplace investigations.

Verify adherence to Nigerian labor legislation and employment statutes in every operational jurisdiction.

Maintain precise records of staff information, employment contracts, HR documentation, and payroll coordination.

Facilitate the progression of organizational development strategies in alignment with the company’s expanding footprint.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least three years of professional experience in the industry. Strong analytical, communication, and technical skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-specific software and tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments and possess leadership qualities to mentor junior team members. Prior experience in project management or process optimization is highly advantageous. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning are required.

A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Psychology, Industrial Relations, Management, or a closely related discipline is required.

Professional Certification: Applicants must hold current CPM membership or possess an equivalent professional credential.

With a minimum of five to eight years of progressive human resources experience, candidates must also possess at least two to three years in a senior-level HR position.

Multi-site Management: Proven expertise in overseeing HR functions across various locations or states within Nigeria.

Proven expertise in advancing organizational development initiatives that extend beyond traditional transactional HR functions.
