Facility Manager

Job Description

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and security of the campus or facility.
This role ensures a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for employees, students, or tenants while optimizing facility efficiency and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance:

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and functionality of all campus buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Manage vendor contracts for cleaning, security, landscaping, and maintenance services.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Space & Resource Management:

Optimize space utilization for efficiency and functionality.
Oversee classroom, office, and common area allocations.
Coordinate with departments to ensure facility needs are met.

Health, Safety & Security:

Implement and monitor safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety regulations.
Manage security personnel and systems to safeguard property and occupants.

Budget & Vendor Management:

Manage the facility’s operational budget.
Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
Monitor expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Sustainability & Compliance:

Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal facility regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
3- 5 years of experience in facility or campus management.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security).
Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Work Environment:

On-site role with frequent inspections and coordination with various departments.
May require flexibility for after-hours or emergency responses.
