Job Summary
The Procurement Officer is responsible for overseeing procurement processes to guarantee the prompt, economical, and high-quality acquisition of equipment and materials.
This position involves overseeing supplier relationships and overseeing import operations, ensuring adherence to both regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive organizational success. This encompasses developing and implementing comprehensive strategies, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. Additionally, the role involves fostering a collaborative work environment, mentoring team members, and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships to enhance productivity and innovation.
Craft and execute procurement policies and strategies with a focus on ensuring transparency, fairness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and supplier assessment to finalizing contractual agreements.
Oversee the importation and shipping operations, coordinating with regulatory bodies such as NAFDAC, SON, and Customs, as well as logistics partners to guarantee punctual delivery of goods.
Build and sustain strong supplier partnerships, actively negotiating advantageous terms to enhance cost efficiency while upholding stringent quality benchmarks.
Evaluate and integrate new suppliers as part of a proactive strategy to diversify sourcing options, thereby reducing potential disruptions and safeguarding operational stability.
Oversee procurement budgets, monitor savings initiatives, and provide detailed reports on financial and performance metrics.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to design innovative procurement strategies that meet specific project needs.
Develop and evaluate landed cost estimates to ensure precise forecasting and budgeting.
Oversee adherence to all legal mandates and internal policies governing procurement and supply chain operations.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, preferably holding a degree in a related discipline. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively across teams. The ideal applicant must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance protocols is a must. Additionally, candidates should possess leadership qualities to guide junior team members and drive project success.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
Requires at least five years of hands-on procurement experience, with practical knowledge of import procedures within a dynamic operational setting.
Expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is essential.
Proficiency in the services industry provides a valuable advantage.
