Academy Business Manager

Job Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Leadership & Strategy

Responsible for driving and implementing training programmes across the Academy’s tech business areas such as Enterprise software, Cloud track, Digital business track, Big Data and Analytics, Mobility, 3D Printing , Internet of Things (IoT) and Security.
Responsible for creating a professional body of Developers in Nigeria and Africa at large
Responsible for organizing conferences that aligns with the Academy’s tech business areas such as hackathons and meet ups in order to bring developers and investors across the globe together
Collaborate with owners of major technology platforms relevant to the academy globally E.g. Openstack, Liferay and MongoDB, etc.
Create a collaborative model between academy and software outsourcing firms in order to constantly furnish software firms with top developers from the academy
Participate in decision making and share collective responsibility for the leadership and management of the Academy.
Contribute to the development of the Academy and the long term financial strategy for the future development of the Academy.
Leadership and strategic management of support staff; this includes line
management of a support staff, effective deployment of support staff, dealing with all personnel issues relating to support staff including training and annual performance management

Financial Management

Generate revenue for the academy through training, professional membership fees, conference fees (discounted for members), conference sponsorships, and recruitment fees, meet-ups as a service platform and equity participation in start-ups.
Monitoring and reporting on Vatebra Academy’s budget, cash flow and spend at regular intervals.
Undertake financial benchmarking and to advise the leadership team on best value.
Administration Management Lead and manage the administrative function ensuring that there are efficient administrative support systems and procedures in place for the smooth running of the Academy. To act as Data Protection Officer for the Academy by ensuring the Academy’s privacy notices are in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data processing at the Academy is undertaken on a lawful basis.
Ensuring that the Academy regularly reviews what data it holds, where the data comes from and who it is shared with. Other Duties Maintain and develop community links Be part of marketing and communications committee Carry out other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post and assigned by the leadership team

Job Specifications

Educational Qualifications Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Marketing or/and Master’s degree in Marketing. Master’s degree in Business Administration or any other related discipline
Professional Qualifications Relevant professional qualifications are required
Experience Minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role and industry
