Job Description

An English Teacher is responsible for instructing students in the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, and literature, by creating lesson plans, delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, assigning and grading assignments, and providing feedback to help students improve their language proficiency and literacy skills; they also often collaborate with other educators to ensure a well-rounded learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:

Create engaging lesson plans aligned with educational standards, incorporating various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.

Classroom Instruction:

Deliver lessons on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing techniques, and literary analysis, facilitating discussions and student participation.

Assessment and Feedback:

Design and administer assessments like quizzes, tests, and projects to evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback to improve their skills.

Student Support:

Identify individual student needs, provide differentiated instruction, and offer additional support when necessary.

Communication:

Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns.

Technology Integration:

Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and provide access to digital resources.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field
Teaching certification (depending on location).

Required Skills:

Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain concepts, provide effective feedback, and facilitate meaningful classroom discussions.
Strong Knowledge of English: Comprehensive understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and literary elements.
