Manufacturing Capability Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the development and delivery of capability development strategy across all plants for manufacturing staff 
Support plant leadership team by acting as coach, mentor and trainer for the manufacturing team to embed sustainable and profitable learning culture.
Be seen as subject matter expert in all aspects of manufacturing capability development and be able to provide such technical support as required from time to time.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement on capability development.
Improve capability of operators, technicians, team leaders, and other plant manufacturing team managers by defining relevant up skilling and development programs for each staff category (ODP, STLDP, FMDP, LMDP etc)
Interface with plant and P&C management to develop and execute capability improvements and deploy best practices and standards.
Act as the driving force behind strategic, operational and organizational initiatives, in the plant, that relate to manufacturing capability development.
Ensures integrity and sustainability of development plans and processes through conducting audits and process checks and initiating corrective actions where required. 
Provide insight into manufacturing capability development progress especially of ODP and ESUT, through analytics and drive performance gap closures as metrics may show.
In collaboration with other HQ Manufacturing staff, deliver training focusing on other lean manufacturing pillars (PM, Kaizen, SMED, RCPS, 5S etc.)
Be able to and conduct periodic skills assessment of any set of manufacturing staff.
 Participate in all plant risk and RCA analysis for the purpose of identifying areas needing capability enhancement.

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent certificate (HND).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing technical position most of which should be a managerial role combined appropriately with a shop floor oversight role.
Proficiency in presentation and training skills
Excellent organization skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizing and managing time effectively.
Proven leadership skills particularly in creating possibilities & change management and managing people for success.
Remain abreast with industry changes, new technology, systems and procedures as they relate to capability improvements. 
Experience in plant manufacturing operations, project planning & implementation.
Previous new equipment or line installation or extension could be an advantage.
Understanding of business case/cost benefits analysis preparation and basic financial analysis tools.
