Medical Officers

A Medical Officer will be  responsible for providing direct patient care, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and managing treatment plans within a healthcare setting like a clinic, hospital, or community health center, often including assessing patient needs, performing examinations, and referring to specialists when necessary; they may also lead medical teams and oversee day-to-day clinical operations depending on their role and seniority. 

Duties will include 

Patient assessment and diagnosis:

Conducting thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests to accurately diagnose patient conditions. 

Treatment planning:

Developing and implementing treatment plans including medication prescription, therapeutic interventions, and follow-up care. 

Emergency care:

Responding to medical emergencies, providing immediate treatment, and stabilizing patients when necessary. 

Patient education:

Providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and health promotion strategies to patients. 

Clinical documentation:

Maintaining detailed medical records, documenting patient encounters, and ensuring accurate reporting. 

Collaboration with other healthcare professionals:

Working effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care. 

Quality improvement:

Participating in initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care and clinical practice. 

Administrative duties:

May include managing clinical schedules, overseeing staff, and participating in quality assurance activities depending on the role. 

Candidates are expected to have:

Required qualifications for a Medical Officer position typically include:

A medical degree (MD or equivalent)
Completion of a internship program in Medicibe, Surgery,  Paediatrics, Obstetric and Gynaecology 
Current medical license to practice in the jurisdiction
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical practice guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams 
An experience in dialysis treatment is highly desirable
