Job Description
The AL Technical Lead will support the FCDO-funded Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) project with support to Accelerated Learning (AL).
The AL Lead will support the Kano state government with light-touch advising on sustaining AL interventions in 7 LGAs, which may include liaising with desk officers and government officials, as well as conducting periodic school visits.
In addition, the AL Lead will provide support for developing an AL camp model to be used in 4 focal LGAs as a complement to PLANE’s Foundational Literacy and Numeracy interventions.
The AL Lead may also be responsible for responding to additional technical assistance requests in Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa, in collaboration with PLANE staff and consultants.
Additional support to other PLANE activities, including workshops, materials development, materials distribution, community activities, report writing, and work planning may also be requested.
Minimum Recruitment Standard
BS / BA in Education, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 7 – 9 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
Or MS / MA Degree in Education, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 5 – 7 years relevant experience with international development programs.
Documented experience in Accelerated Learning programming.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Hausa.
Demonstrated understanding of literacy and numeracy instruction
Working understanding of monitoring and evaluation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to function well in a team and adapt to an evolving environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
