Psychosocial Support Animator

ABOUT THE JOB: 

The Psychosocial Support Animator will be responsible for designing and facilitating engaging psychosocial support activities and events that promote mental health and emotional resilience. This role involves working directly with individuals and groups to provide support, enhance coping skills, and foster community connections. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Psychosocial Support Animator will be responsible for the following, including those not listed but are extensions of those expressly stated:

Adhere to EYN Projects’ and donor/partner policies, handbook, guidelines, and SOPs.
Register and enroll children in psychosocial activities at CFS.
Conduct psychosocial support sessions and activities for children affected by crisis and conflict focusing on their emotional and social well-being.
Use interactive and creative methods such as art, music, drama, and play to engage children in a safe and supportive environment.
Collaborate with the child protection team to identify and address the specific needs and challenges faced by children in the target communities.
Facilitate group discussions and activities that promote resilience, coping mechanisms, and positive peer interactions among children. 
Work closely with families and communities to promote understanding and support for the psychosocial well-being of children.
Document and monitor the progress and impact of psychosocial support activities and contribute to ongoing evaluations and assessments. 
Contribute to the development and adaptation of psychosocial support materials and resources for children and caregivers.
Organize children by age group and implement activities according to their needs. 
Warmly receive children when they come to CFS for activity. 
Ensure there are enough recreational and educational materials at CFSs. 
Be careful not to offend any child in the course of work (Do No Harm).
Report weekly to the supervisor on activities carried out.
Collect data and maintain records on the children’s database and share them with MEAL team.
He or she shall undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor. 

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate diverse groups of people.
Creative and energetic approach to designing and delivering psychosocial support activities.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management and reporting tools.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. (Relevant certifications or additional training in psychosocial support or community animation preferred).
Proven experience (3 years) in facilitating psychosocial support activities or similar roles, with a strong understanding of creative engagement techniques.
