Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer oversees design processes and site inspections, supervising MEP contractors to ensure progress aligns with approved drawings and materials.
The role demands a consultancy background, effective site coordination, and strong project management skills.
Tasks and Duties
Design and Drafting:
Develop designs for electrical systems including Medium and Low Voltage Power, Lighting, and Low Current Systems.
Prepare technical content for tender documents, engineering designs, feasibility reports, and specifications.
Perform electrical engineering calculations and system analyses.
Site Supervision:
Ensure execution aligns with approved shop drawings (site inspections required).
Report daily progress to the General Manager and plan subsequent tasks.
Inspect materials on-site and prepare requirements for upcoming phases.
Project Management:
Address work non-conformities with recommendations.
Supervise testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
Evaluate contractor performance and analyze engineering issues with resolutions.
Consultancy and Development:
Build and maintain client relationships.
Represent the firm at industry events.
Contribute to company growth and uphold professional standards.
Person Specifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
NSE & COREN Certification required.
10 – 20 years of consultancy experience in Nigeria.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Dialux.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment: Normal office environment with site visits.
