Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Operations Manager to join our team and help drive our mission forward. The Operations Manager will be pivotal in ensuring our organization’s smooth and efficient functioning, enhancing our impact, and facilitating growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure the effective implementation of programs and initiatives.
Develop and implement strategic operational plans that align with our mission and vision.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of passionate professionals.
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize program delivery and outcomes.
Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes, making improvements as necessary.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Drive initiatives that promote sustainable economic empowerment and development.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, International Development, or an MBA is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5–7 years in operations management, preferably in an NGO or nonprofit environment.
Knowledge of procurement, logistics, and general office administration.
Familiarity with proposal writing, donor reporting, and adherence to donor guidelines.
Strong understanding of grant cycles and fundraising techniques.
Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., tax compliance, labor laws).
Risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Experience in managing cross-functional teams in diverse cultural settings.
Familiarity with the NGO’s field of work (e.g., education, health, poverty alleviation, agriculture).
Experience overseeing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking and ability to implement operational strategies
Experience with budget management and financial planning
Knowledge of project management principles and practices
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
