Description and Objectives
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the role of Business Development Specialist in our organization.
As a Business Development Specialist, you will reach out to candidates and individuals interested in upskilling, as well as liaise with industry leaders, HR managers, heads of agencies, and those in positions of authority to keep track of their talent needs.
You will also be responsible for expanding partnerships, attracting potential participants, and fostering collaborations with key stakeholders to support our specialised CAPTRA program, Niche Talent Management (NTM) service and key Talent Lab service offerings.
A successful candidate will be expected to generate a quarterly revenue of N15,000,000 – N25,000,000
Responsibilities
Capacity Development, Training, and Upskilling Program (CAPTRA)
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify, cultivate, and establish strategic partnerships to promote CAPTRA.
Collaborate with external partners to create mutually beneficial relationships that enhance the program’s visibility and reach.
Target: Establish 5 new strategic partnerships with educational institutions, industry associations, and other relevant organizations per quarter. (I propose 2/Quarter for now, partnerships have to be mutually beneficial for both parties, with areas of alignment)
Participant Recruitment:
Develop and implement a participant recruitment strategy to attract recent graduates and young professionals.
Utilize various channels, including social media, events, and partnerships, to effectively market the program.
Target: Recruit 100 participants per quarter for the CAPTRA program. (per cohort, till CAPTRA becomes a quarterly program)
Business Development:
Drive business development efforts by exploring new opportunities for growth.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for program enhancement.
Target: Identify and explore 3 new avenues for program expansion per quarter.
Networking and Outreach:
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Conduct outreach activities to engage with target audiences and build a strong community around the CAPTRA program.
Target: Attend and represent the organization at 4 industry events or conferences per quarter.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work closely with the CAPTRA team to align business development strategies with program objectives.
Provide insights and feedback to enhance the overall effectiveness and impact of the program.
Target: Facilitate 2 strategy alignment meetings with the CAPTRA team per month.
Niche Talent Management (NTM)
Client Sourcing & Engagement:
Engage with organizations across various industries to understand and address their talent needs.
Initiate communication through cold calls, emails, and other channels.
Target: Engage with 10 new organizations per month seeking to address talent gaps.
Market Expansion:
Drive business development efforts to expand NTM services beyond clients in the development sector.
Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities.
Target: Identify 3 new market segments or industries for NTM service expansion per quarter.
Customized Recruitment Solutions:
Collaborate with clients to understand their unique talent requirements and provide customized recruitment solutions.
Leverage our curated database to connect organizations with top talent efficiently.
Target: Successfully place 5 candidates per month in various organizations.
Other Talent Lab Business Services
Diversification Support:
Research and identify potential new business services that align with Talent Lab’s strategic goals.
Conduct feasibility studies and market analysis to determine the viability of new service offerings.
Target: Identify and assess 2 new business service opportunities per year. The report will be sent to the General Manager for review.
Strategic Partnerships:
Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and potential partners to support new business service areas.
Develop and formalize partnership agreements to enhance service delivery.
Target: Establish at least 3 strategic partnerships for proposed new business services.
Business Development:
Target: Develop and launch 1 new business services (or an innovative version of an existing business service) per year.
Create business development plans for new service areas, including marketing strategies and revenue projections.
Drive the implementation of new services, ensuring alignment with Talent Lab’s mission and values.
Service Delivery Support:
Target: Achieve a client satisfaction rating of 90% or higher for new services.
Oversee the delivery of new business services, ensuring high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
Monitor performance metrics and client feedback to continuously improve service offerings.
Duty Station:
The role is in Talent Lab’s Head Office but will require client calls in and outside the FCT.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Business Management, or a closely related field.
3-5 years of experience in business development, partnership building, sales, or similar roles.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Familiarity with the education and professional development landscape is a plus.
