Chemistry Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our academic team in Benin City, GRA.
The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students, fostering a love for chemistry and ensuring academic excellence in line with the curriculum.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in line with the curriculum (WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE).
Assess students’ progress through tests, assignments, and examinations.
Maintain accurate records of students’ performance and attendance.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Use practical demonstrations and laboratory experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts.
Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as science clubs or competitions.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff for interdisciplinary learning.
Keep up-to-date with developments in the subject and teaching methodologies.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Science Education with a Chemistry focus.
Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field is an added advantage.
Teaching qualifications such as PGDE or relevant certifications are preferred.

Experience:

1 to 10 years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary school level.
Experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and IGCSE examinations is essential.

Other Requirements:

Must reside in or be willing to relocate to **Benin City, GRA**.
Passion for teaching and a strong commitment to student success.
Ability to conduct laboratory experiments and maintain laboratory safety standards.
Positive attitude, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of Chemistry and the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Proficiency in using ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning.
Ability to motivate and engage students in learning.
Organizational and time management skills.
