Job Description/Responsibilities

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated Finance Analyst to support the Finance Team at Casava.
The Finance Analyst will support the Head of Finance & Investments in accurate financial record-keeping, supporting financial reporting processes, and contributing to financial analysis and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements, reports, and budgets on a periodic basis.
Conducting financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, financial forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.
Collaborating with other departments to gather financial data and provide insights into financial performance.
Assisting in external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
Monitoring cash flow, financial transactions, and banking activities to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
Managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Assisting in standardizing and implementing finance and payment processes within the organization.
Contributing to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the microinsurance, insurtech, and finance industry.

Job Requirements

The right candidate might have…

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
Proven experience (2-3 years) in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the financial services sector, microfinance, or insurtech.
Strong understanding of financial principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
Proficiency in financial reporting software and systems; experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate meaningful insights.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and maintaining high standards of financial integrity.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
