Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Corporate/Commercial Counsel at Bluebulb Financials Limited.
The Corporate/Commercial Counsel will report to the General Counsel and be responsible for providing expert legal advice, drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, and addressing legal issues as they arise.
The role will have expertise in legal advisory in structuring and documenting transaction in IMTO, Fund Management and other payment solutions within the Group’s portfolio.
Experience
Minimum of 4–10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on financial services, capital markets, and the payments ecosystem.
In-depth knowledge of payment licensing- IMTO, PSS, Fund Management licenses
Cross-jurisdictional regulatory compliance experience, particularly in UK, Canada, Kenya and Nigeria.
Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and legal research abilities.
Solid understanding of financial regulations, corporate governance, and risk management.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of advising senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; Master’s Degree (LLM) or specialized legal qualifications are advantageous.
Must be admitted to practice law in Nigeria. Bar qualifications in foreign jurisdictions (UK or Canada) is a plus.
Professional Certification: Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Certifications in compliance, finance, capital markets law, Arbitration/Mediation Institutes are desirable.
