Import Operations
Coordinate and manage end-to-end import processes, including shipment tracking, customs clearance, and delivery.
Prepare and verify all import-related documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Monitor and ensure compliance with international trade regulations, tariffs, and import duties.
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Supplier and Stakeholder Management
Communicate with international suppliers to confirm orders, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate terms with logistics providers to optimize shipping costs and transit times.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customs authorities and external partners.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure adherence to government regulations, trade policies, and company guidelines related to imports.
Stay updated on changes in import/export laws and advise management on potential impacts.
Handle disputes or delays in customs clearance and resolve issues efficiently.
Data Management and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of import activities and costs.
Generate reports on import performance metrics, such as lead times, costs, and supplier reliability.
Use data insights to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in import operations, supply chain, or logistics roles.
In-depth knowledge of INCOTERMS, shipping documentation, and customs clearance procedures.
Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
Certification in international trade or logistics (e.g., CILT, APICS, or FIATA) is an advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies
