About the Role:

The Account Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving relationships with medium and large merchants, while achieving annual sales and profit growth targets.
Along with merchants, the Account Manager will draft and implement action plans to address mutually defined goals and expectations.
The Key Account Manager’s core focus will be on high-value customers demonstrating strategic profitable growth opportunities.

What you will be doing:

Ability to upsell and cross sell a wide range of PayU products based on merchant needs, strategic objectives,
Develop, draft and implement an action plan that will ensure the achievement and enhancement of annual sales and profitability growth targets,
Retain and profitably grow firm value, sales and profitability through proactive management of assigned merchant relationships,
Lead a joint planning process that identifies relevant customer needs, wants and expectations and address these facets through the design of customized customer account plans,
Increase the number of transactions and transactional value being processed through the introduction of fresh and innovative ideas to all merchants,
Maintain excellent knowledge of the payments landscape in South Africa as well as in-depth knowledge of the PayU offering both locally and through the centralized global platform,
Ability to contribute to product strategy based on market knowledge and merchant needs,
Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization,
Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your merchants,
Produce quarterly reviews and submit regular reports to management,
Maintain excellent relationships with peers within the African markets,
Engage with Global and Local merchants.

What are we looking for?

Entry-level Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in relevant field
Minimum of +4 years in a key account manager position or as Business Development.
Experience working in a global company across various geographies.
Experience managing and growing medium to large portfolios.

Professional Requirements:

Proven account management or other relevant experience
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once while paying strict attention to detail.
Experience working in a high paced, agile environment
Experience with high volume transactional systems would be advantageous
