Account Associate

Description

We are seeking an Account Associate to assist in the preparation of financial statements, maintenance of accounting records, and provision of financial support to the management team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as assisting in the implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and external stakeholders.

Accounting Records:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:

Process and pay invoices, as well as manage the accounts payable function.
Manage the accounts receivable function, including invoicing and collection of debts.

Inventory Management:

Assist in the maintenance of accurate inventory records, including tracking of inventory levels and valuation.
Ensure compliance with inventory accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Financial Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of financial analysis and reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support business decision-making.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, laws, and standards, including tax laws and accounting standards.

Internal Controls:

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, including financial policies and procedures.
Ensure that financial transactions are properly authorized, recorded, and reported.

Audits and Reviews:

Assist in the preparation for and coordination of external audits and reviews.
Ensure that financial records and statements are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
Professional certification, such as ICAN, is an added advantage
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Proficient in Excel, including ERP systems and accounting packages.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
