Responsibilities
Monitor and ensure the health and welfare of broiler chickens.
Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases and injuries.
Implement and manage vaccination schedules.
Train farm staff on biosecurity measures and proper handling of birds.
Ensure compliance with local veterinary and animal welfare regulations.
Proven track record in diagnosing and treating poultry diseases
Experience with vaccination programs and biosecurity implementation.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the relevant jurisdiction.
Additional specialization or certification in poultry health management (preferred but not mandatory).
Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in poultry health management or a similar role.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of poultry anatomy, physiology, and common diseases.
Familiarity with biosecurity protocols and disease prevention strategies.
Ability to conduct necropsies and lab tests to identify health issues.
Knowledge of poultry nutrition and its impact on health.
Proficiency in maintaining detailed medical records and preparing health reports.
Other Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with farm staff and management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Willingness to travel between farms if necessary.
