Project Summary

The Fashion Future Program (FFP), implemented by Ethnocentrique, is a skills and local economic development initiative aimed at equipping young fashion enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, particularly women, with the resources and opportunities needed to excel in the competitive garment, footwear, and leatherwork segments of the Nigerian fashion industry. Through apprenticeship training, mentorship, cluster development, and advocacy, FFP aims to enhance local production and drive sustainable development within local communities.

Position Overview:

The Skills Officer will oversee the training and development of program participants, ensuring they acquire essential technical and practical skills aligned with the program’s objectives. The role will involve coordinating with MasterCraft Persons (MCPs), monitoring participants’ progress, and leveraging data analytics to assess and report on the effectiveness of the training.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Coordination:

Collaborate with MCPs and trainers to deliver high-quality, hands-on fashion and textile training.
Implement the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) standards.
Ensure training materials and resources are available and up to date.
Schedule and manage training sessions across different clusters.

Data Collection & Analytics:

Design and implement data collection tools to monitor participant progress, skill acquisition, and overall program impact.
Analyze training performance data to provide insights on participant learning outcomes and skill gaps.
Use data analytics to track trends, generate reports, and make data-driven recommendations for improving training quality.
Work with the M&E team to maintain and update participant databases, ensuring accurate reporting.

Participant Support:

Act as the primary point of contact for participants, offering guidance and support throughout the training.
Monitor and evaluate participant progress through data-driven insights, identifying areas for improvement.
Provide one-on-one support where needed to address individual learning challenges.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Track and assess participant skill acquisition, performance, and engagement using data analytics.
Generate weekly and monthly reports on the training program’s progress using key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaborate with the Program Manager to continuously refine training approaches based on participant performance data.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Coordinate with training halls, MCPs, and facilitators to ensure all logistical and resource needs are met.
Liaise with local businesses, industry experts, and stakeholders to enhance learning opportunities and job placements.

Internship and Job Placement Support:

Assist in coordinating internships and ensure continuous learning and practical experience for participants during their internships.
Support the job matching team to facilitate participant placements in relevant fashion industry jobs.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure compliance with all program guidelines, safety protocols, and ethical standards.
Prepare and submit data-driven reports on participant outcomes, skills assessments, and program effectiveness.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Fashion, Textile Design, Data Science, or related fields.
Certification in training, vocational education, or data analytics will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vocational training or skills development, preferably in the fashion or textile industry.
Experience working with data analytics tools to track training outcomes and participant performance.
Familiarity with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and data-driven decision-making is highly desirable.
