Laboratory Manager

Our Client is a Construction and Traffic Management Solution company. Who is currently in need of  a LABORATORY MANAGER. 

Job Responsibilities:

Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of construction materials.
Develop, implement, and enforce rigorous quality assurance and control procedures.
Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
Liaise with project management teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for material utilization.
Maintain detailed records and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.
Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure accurate and time-testing of construction materials.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment and initiate procurement of necessary items.
Perform quality control testing to assess the strength, durability and suitability of materials for construction projects.
Prepare reports on Laboratory activities, test results and equipment maintenance.
Conduct and oversee a wide range of tests on construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and steel.
Interpret test results and provide recommendations to project teams regarding material selection, design specifications and construction methods.
Participate in project meetings, site visits and inspections as required.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among laboratory staff.
Coordinate with external testing laboratories or consultants as necessary to supplement in-house testing capabilities

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field from a reputable university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cons​truction laboratory environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for materials testing.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership abilities, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Capacity to work under pressure and within tight timelines.
Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations
