PURPOSE OF JOB
The Account Officer is tasked with overseeing payables and receivables, calculating tax schedules, generating production and sales reports, and maintaining asset schedules and inventory management to ensure precise financial records and adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accurately process and manage vendor invoices and payments in a timely manner to uphold strong vendor relationships and prevent incurring late payment penalties.
Monitor customer invoices and payments diligently to uphold steady cash flow and mitigate the potential for bad debt exposure.
Prepare tax schedules meticulously, ensuring strict adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations to facilitate punctual submissions and mitigate potential penalties.
Compile and evaluate production and sales reports to detect key trends and discrepancies, providing data-driven insights essential for guiding management decisions.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the asset schedule to uphold accurate asset management and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
Ensure the precision and currency of financial records to facilitate seamless month-end and year-end closing procedures while upholding data integrity.
Monitor inventory records vigilantly to maintain precise stock levels, thereby facilitating streamlined production planning and effective cost management.
To ensure precise financial reporting and appropriate cost allocation, monthly cost center expenses must be reclassified.
To compile monthly departmental expenses for comparison with the budget, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are identified for corrective measures.
Compile and present periodic financial reports to the Financial Controller, ensuring the delivery of critical data-driven insights essential for strategic planning and informed decision-making processes.

Applicants must possess a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management tools are essential, while familiarity with industry-specific software is highly advantageous. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include conducting thorough market research, developing strategic plans, and overseeing project execution to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Minimum qualification: A Bachelor of Science degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting.
Chartered status represents a significant added advantage for this position.
