Job Overview
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, minimizing downtime, and maximizing the cost-effectiveness of our fleet operations.
You will lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of fleet maintenance, repairs, and compliance with regulatory standards, all while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the fleet, including vehicle procurement, maintenance, and disposal.
Develop and implement fleet management strategies to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Schedule regular vehicle maintenance, including inspections, repairs, and servicing, to minimize downtime.
Monitor and manage fleet performance, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and meet regulatory compliance standards.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, maintenance providers, and insurance companies.
Track and report on fleet performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, vehicle utilization, and maintenance costs.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and licensing for all fleet vehicles.
Ensure that all fleet vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
Implement and oversee driver safety programs, including training, compliance, and risk management.
Manage the fleet budget, including forecasting costs for repairs, replacements, and operational expenses.
Liaise with other departments to ensure fleet availability meets business needs.
Qualifications
Proven experience in fleet management or a similar role, preferably in a large organization or company.
Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency with fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze and report on fleet performance data.
Experience in managing a large and diverse fleet (e.g., bikes, vehicles, trucks)
Experience with GPS tracking systems and telematics.
