Head, Operations and Maintenance

Job Summary

The Head of Operations and Maintenance will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of all operations and maintenance activities within the Green Economic Zone project, ensuring optimal efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
The role involves coordinating across various departments to meet strategic goals for sustainable practices, reducing the zone’s carbon footprint, and implementing innovative technologies for long-term environmental benefits.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the economic zone, ensuring smooth functionality and alignment with green objectives.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to enhance operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
Monitor and manage budgets, forecasting, and financial planning related to operational needs.

Maintenance Management:

Direct and manage all maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of infrastructure, facilities, and utilities.
Implement a comprehensive asset management system to optimize the lifespan and performance of equipment and facilities.
Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs to ensure high standards of operational reliability and safety.

Sustainability & Compliance:

Ensure all operations and maintenance activities comply with environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with sustainability teams to introduce eco-friendly practices, energy conservation, and waste management strategies.
Continuously monitor environmental metrics to achieve sustainability goals and maintain a green, eco-friendly workplace.

Team Leadership and Development:

Recruit, train, and manage a team of operations and maintenance professionals, including technicians, engineers, and support staff.
Foster a collaborative and safety-focused culture, promoting continuous improvement and skill development.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, setting goals and providing feedback to ensure team alignment with operational and sustainability objectives.

Innovation and Process Improvement:

Identify and implement new technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Develop and lead initiatives for digital transformation and automation of maintenance and operational processes.
Drive process improvements in line with global standards and practices, adapting them to meet the unique needs of the Green Economic Zone project.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, vendors, and contractors, to ensure smooth operations.
Prepare and present reports, analytics, and recommendations to the senior management team, highlighting operational performance, sustainability impact, and cost efficiencies.
Act as the primary point of contact for operational queries and concerns within the zone.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
10+ years of experience in operations and maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within industrial, commercial, or eco-friendly zones.
Strong knowledge of sustainability practices, energy management, and environmental regulations.
Proven experience in facilities management, asset maintenance, and process optimization.
Familiarity with digital maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant operational technologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively and make data-driven decisions to meet both business and sustainability goals.

Skills:

Certifications in sustainability or green building standards (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001).
Knowledge of renewable energy systems, smart grid technologies, and waste management solutions.
Experience with financial planning and budgeting for large-scale projects.
