Immigration / Visa Officer

Job Description
Immigration facilities:

Contributes to the process of obtaining visa for new arrivals to Nigeria.
Renewal of existing visas and residence permits & Extension of Business/Tourist visas.
Procurement of green cards for expatriates
Procurement of Nigerian passports for Nigerian staff and dependents.

Expatriate database follow-up:

Inputs data of expatriates and their families on Immigration tool
Maintains an accurate database for effective retrieval of information and issues reports.

Intervention:

Assists in solving difficult situations or incidents in the interest of the Company that can occur at the following entry-points: MMI Airport, LADOL Free Zone, etc.

Public Relations / Partners:

Maintains a good interpersonal relationship with customers – expatriates and dependents, local staff – as well as managers through regular communication.
Contributes to maintain good relationship with immigration bodies in Nigeria, especially focused on Port Harcourt-based, to ensure an effective good relationship and efficient services.

Reporting:

Prepares weekly/monthly/annual immigration reports.

Visa Services:

Performs Physical and On-line liaison with the different embassies to get up to date information about their visa requirement.
Ensures visa administration processes (collating, reviewing, submission and pick-up) are well managed in liaison with various embassies and visa processing centers/agents.
Processes all travel health insurance policy.
Updates the visa requirements in HR Direct
Assists Nigerian staff & dependents in obtaining valid Nigerian passports.

Cost Efficiency:

Ensures compliance with the Company’s Cost Efficiency initiatives.

Others:

Documentation for the Biometric Data Capture of expatriates at the NCDMB office in Yenagoa.
Gives updates on changes in Immigration rules and policies.
Liaises with the finance team on achieving smooth re-imbursements.
Carries out any other duties/projects as assigned by the hierarchy.

Accountabilities

Responsible for Immigration and visa activities on behalf of all COMPANY’S staff (Expatriates & Nationals) and Partners
Ensures compliance of Expatriates to Immigration Rules and Policies as prescribed by the Nigeria
Immigration Service such valid CERPAC or Green Cards or extended stay for business visas.
Maintains good working relationship on behalf of the company with government parastatals

Qualifications / Experience

A Degree in any of the Social Sciences with a minimum of 5 years work experience
Knowledge of human resources policies & procedures
High level of integrity and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to work in a team and to work under pressure, with minimum supervision.
Ability to use Microsoft Office tools, data management and process tools – HR Direct/SAP/STAR
Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
