Job Summary
The HR Officer will support the day-to-day operations of the HR department, providing expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration.
The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth delivery of HR services in a dynamic oil and gas environment.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Coordinate recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions, posting vacancies, screening candidates, and organizing interviews.
Support onboarding processes by preparing orientation schedules, introducing new hires to the organization, and ensuring proper documentation.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
Assist in resolving employee grievances in a timely and professional manner.
Organize and support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
HR Administration:
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including contracts, personal details, and performance documentation.
Prepare HR-related reports, letters, and other documentation as needed.
Manage leave and attendance records and ensure timely updates in the HR system.
Compliance and Policy Implementation:
Ensure compliance with labor laws, industry standards, and company policies.
Assist in implementing and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise the HR Manager accordingly.
Performance Management:
Assist in coordinating the performance appraisal process, including tracking deadlines and compiling evaluation data.
Support managers in addressing performance issues and creating development plans for employees.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs in collaboration with department heads.
Support the delivery of training programs and maintain training records.
Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to workplace safety and health standards.
Promote safety awareness among employees and participate in safety-related initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

Additional Requirements:
Familiarity with HR practices in the oil and gas sector is an added advantage.
Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or HRCI is desirable but not mandatory.
