Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated ICU Technician to support critical care operations within our hospital. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining ICU equipment, ensuring optimal functionality to support patient care in critical settings. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to design, implement, and maintain a structured training program for ICU staff, focusing on effective use and maintenance of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and assist in the operation and maintenance of critical care equipment, including life-support systems, ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and other specialized ICU devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ICU equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability during critical care procedures.
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive training program for ICU staff, focusing on the effective use of ICU equipment, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
Monitor and ensure that all ICU equipment complies with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of critical care services.
Maintain accurate records and logs of equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and any issues encountered.
Participate in emergency medical situations, providing technical support for critical care procedures.
Provide ongoing education to staff on new equipment and technological advances in critical care.
Document and address any performance-related issues among ICU staff to maintain high standards of care and teamwork.
Qualifications/Experience:
Proven experience in managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining ICU equipment.
Experience in formulating, implementing, and maintaining a structured training program for ICU staff.
Background in nursing critical care patients is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced critical care environment is preferred.
Proficiency in the use and maintenance of various ICU equipment and life-support systems.
Other Requirements:
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, particularly in emergency or high-stress situations.
A firm personality, with strong leadership and organizational skills to manage and mentor staff effectively.
A willingness to document and address poor performance within the ICU team to ensure continuous improvement.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with healthcare teams and ensure proper documentation of equipment and staff performance.
