Finance Controller

Role Summary

The Finance Controller is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, optimizing financial performance, and maintaining robust compliance with regulatory standards.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution to drive sustainable financial health and growth.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:

Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making processes.
Analyze financial trends to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal controls.
Collaborate with external auditors, tax consultants, and other stakeholders.

Cash Flow & Risk Management:

Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow, ensuring liquidity for operations.
Assess and mitigate financial risks, including currency, credit, and operational risks.
Oversee treasury functions, including investment and debt management.

Operational Oversight:

Implement and maintain financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance operational efficiency.
Review and approve financial transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies.
Support procurement and inventory management with cost control measures.

Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Provide training and development to ensure the team remains updated on financial best practices.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to align financial goals with broader business objectives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Budget variance management and adherence to financial forecasts.
Liquidity ratios and cash flow efficiency.
Cost savings and operational improvements achieved.
Audit and compliance outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or relevant master’s degree is an advantage).
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are preferred.
Proven experience (7+ years) in finance leadership roles, with expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
