Procurement Officer

Job Summary

The Procurement Officer specializing in Direct Procurement will be responsible for Sourcing, negotiating and procuring materials, components and services essential to our direct business operations.
The staff will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, suppliers and other relevant parties to optimize the procurement process and contribute to the overall success of our organization’s goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
Sourcing and Vendor Management:

Ensure Effective vendor management relationships with key suppliers.
Identify and evaluate potential Suppliers for Direct Procurement needs.
Negotiate terms and conditions to secure advantageous agreements.
Ensure accurate documentation for all company Vendors under the category.

Procurement Planning:

Collaborate with internal departments to understand their direct procurement needs.
Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with the company’s goal.
Ensure all Purchases are in line with the internal department’s budgets.
Oversee negotiations to ensure the best prices for direct materials items.
Track key metrics for effective analysis and reporting.

Cost Optimization:

Identify cost-saving opportunities
Implement strategies to achieve cost reduction without compromising quality and satisfaction.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate potential procurement risks related to direct procurement activities.
Development of a contingency plan to address potential disruptions in the procurement process.

Contract management:

Ensure vendor compliance with appropriate SLA and contract documents for Local Packaging and Direct materials
Monitor and evaluate supplier’s performance against contract terms.
Ensure that contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement:

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes and procedures.
Continuously evaluate and enhance the direct Procurement process for effectiveness and efficiency.

Educational Qualifications, Experience & Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any related field.
2 – 3 years previous experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills.
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal relationship skills.
Excellent coordination skills, proactivity, creativity and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent data analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good budget management skills.
Proficiency in Procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
